25. februar 2019 For many of our international students, starting at a school like ISI is like stepping in to an entire new world.
You are far away from home, everyone is speaking Danish and suddenly singing lessons, family group meetings and line-sports are on the week-schedule. The homework is also switched out with board games, movies and social "hygge" during the evenings. The Danish students usually know what they are signing up for, when attending a højskole. However, for most of the international students the term "Folk high school" is unknown and, thus, they do not know what to expect of a stay on a school like ISI. The three current students Gino, Joey and Naim have tried to put a few words on exactly that challenge, so that they can prepare future international students at ISI for what it means to be at a Danish "højskole".
What does it mean to be a student on a Danish "højskole"?
