Travelling with ISI Sports Folk High School
To see and experience the world in the company of great folk high school friends is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Folk high school is all about learning and experiencing new things. During your stay at ISI Sports Folk High School, you'll have the opportunity to choose from several different travel destinations, excursions and trips.
These can either be shared trips for all students across every programme - or specific programme-related trips and outings, based on your sport.
What all these experiences have in common is that, even when we travel, we focus on activities where we use our bodies - sometimes in completely new ways - and we use the time away to gather inspiration, new experiences and valuable insights.

Outdoor trip in Denmark
The autumn outdoor trip is an essential part of the introductory programme at ISI and a great way to begin your Danish adventure. Over several days, you'll explore a beautiful corner of Denmark - an area chosen specifically to challenge you on land, on water and even in the air.
Beyond the outdoor challenges, the trip is designed to help you connect with all of your new friends. Spending time together away from campus creates countless opportunities for teamwork, shared experiences and the kind of conversations that often lead to long lasting friendships.
You can look forward to cooking meals over a campfire, discovering local traditions, taking part in friendly competitions and enjoying cosy evenings under the open sky. With a mix of adventure, learning and social bonding, the outdoor trip promises to be both memorable and genuinely fun - a perfect start to your time at ISI.

Club La Santa, Lanzarote
Experience an entire week dedicated to sport, movement and sunshine at Club La Santa, a world-famous training oasis set in the dramatic volcanic landscape of Lanzarote.
For this special week, we quite literally move the folk high school from Ikast to the Spanish island, where you'll practise your main sport in professional facilities and take part in a wide range of new and exciting activities together with your fellow students. The surroundings make it easy to stay active from early morning until late evening - and even easier to enjoy every moment of it.
Throughout the week, you can dive into a rich programme that includes swimming sessions, yoga on outdoor decks overlooking the mountains, athletics on a professional track, road cycling along the coast and off-road biking across striking volcanic terrain. You'll also have the chance to hike on real volcanoes, join energising group training sessions, test new sports and experience fun activities and evening entertainment.
Club La Santa truly has everything: state-of-the-art sports facilities, endless opportunities to try both familiar and completely new activities, warm weather all year round and delicious meals to round off active days. Whether you're a dedicated athlete or simply enjoy staying active, it's an inspiring playground - an energising oasis for sports lovers at every level.

Programme days
During your stay, each programme has dedicated days where students and teachers plan the content together.
For the football programmes, the trip goes to the football capital, London. Here, we visit the Danish club Brentford and get unique access to the club - an experience only very few people ever get. Together, we learn more about what they have done to reach the top - both as a club, and as coaches and players.
For handball players and coaches, the programme trip goes to Berlin, where we visit Füchse Berlin - one of the top teams in the Bundesliga, featuring Danish stars Lasse Andersson and Mathias Gidsel in the squad.
For the volleyball programme, the dedicated programme days focus on exploring volleyball from new angles - both on and off the court. Together with your teacher, you design the content yourselfes, which can include specialised training sessions, tactical workshops, video analysis and guest input.
